| Haaretz is facilitating the formenting of baseless hatred by allowing some of the comments in this Talkback. If 400 of the hotels rooms had been rented out to a homosexual convention would all the haredi bashers have said that it was taken over by perverts? Would they complain that `regular` Israeli families away for a well deserved break with their young children had to be subjected to gross indecency in front of their eyes? No of course not. Haaretz should use its platform to forge bonds of mutual respect not hatred. The hotel realised its mistake and offered an alternative, which all the non religious guests except one family accepted. Let Haaretz run a well researched piece about citizens` rights in a situation as happened here or similar situations. What for example are my rights if the airline I am flying for 12 hours to the USA, does not have pre-ordered and paid for glatt kosher food for me, my wife and 5 children? We can`t open the door and move over to the next airplane! |
