Proud Israeli,
I agree that politicians everywhere. not only in Israel, are self-serving first, and serve their nations only the crumbs that are left.
But, Proud Israeli and certainly Proud Jew though you may be, it is the Scared Israeli in you who is refusing to accommodate the aspirations of your Syrian (and Palestinian and other Arab and Muslim) neighbours so that peace and prosperity for all can ensue. The late Arafat and Begin used to talk of the `peace of the brave`. Now Assad is ready to talk about the same concept. I read this morning on AsiaTimes that even Ahmadinejad is suggesting to Xavier Solana that Iran would be ready to offer a six-week freeze on uranium enrichment as counterpart to a six-week freeze on additional sanctions, while a more lasing, mutually-agreeable resolution of disagreements can be worked out.
Within a year, a more accommodating Ali Larijani will propose a solution that Iran`s worst detractors won`t be able to resist.
Be brave. Seek peace! |
