Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails generally get visitation rights. They can meet their families, lawyers, and International Red Crescent/Cross representatives.
The group holding Shalit hostage does not of the above, in violation of various international laws and treaties.
Hezbollah, of course, has done even less and apparently murdered the two Israeli soldiers they kidnapped or allowed them to die in captivity without proper medical care.
Samir Kuntar was arrested, tried, convicted, and sentence for murder. He has a lawyer, visits, and various prisoner rights as determined by law.
The Palestinians and Hezbollah do not recognize international law in these cases. |
