Between 1982 and 1992 96 foreigners (Americans, Britons, French, Germans and Swiss) were taken hostage by Lebanese terrorists, supposedly with the support of Iran and Syria. Most will remember the Anglican hostage negotiator Terry Waite.
And let`s not forget TWA flight 847, from which passenger Robert Dean Stethem (US Navy) was beaten, shot and his body dumped on the runway.
Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev are part of this `great Lebanese Arab tradition`.
Now that Israel is willing to exchange deceased Israelis for living Arabs, the hostage taking will just continue, as the terrorists believe it pays off to kidnap Israelis or other nationals...
