I would like to make two points.
(1) during WW 2 bombing from the air was just not that accurate. Even in the first phase of the Vietnam war some 20 years later with better aircraft the American bombing of Vietnamese roads and bridges was not very accurate.
(2) why does nobody ever call out why the Soviet Airforce did not bomb Auschwitz and other death camps in Poland ? After all the Soviet Airforce had fewer miles to fly and did not have to traverse completely over Germany itself to get there.
