"but ALL normal functioning rules of Israel as a normal Western democratic country are warped" Israel is not and never has been "a normal western democratic country". Israel has a whole cornucopia of laws, customs, and regulations in place to insure that the Jewish majority remains overwhelming. This is a tribal democracy in which democratic freedoms are extended only to members of the tribe. Outsiders, even those living in Israel, permanently remain outsiders and even have special restrictions that apply to them but not to the mainstream Jews. I can fill pages of examples if any of Israels supporters would care to challenge me on this.
