This isn`t surprising at all to anyone that lives here and bothers looking outside and not just at the TV screens. Arabs and Jews tend to get along great most of the time, but that is not newsworthy. We don`t always agree on everything but we find a way to work out our difference.
I`ve lived in Haifa and Jaffa, and what I learned is that Israel, with all it`s problems (and there are many), is still the best hope for normalcy in the Middle East.
I hope someday soon we manage to bury the hatchet with the Palestinians, so that we can influence and inspire people all over the Arab world, and help them get rid of the tyrants that have been stealing their freedom and dignity for I don`t know how long. |
