It`s the 5th day and no rockets or fire from Gaza or into Gaza. Ordinary people on both sides expect their politicians to keep them from being fired on. They also expect progress on prisoner exchanges. The politicians are hostages to the promises they made not only the other side, but to their own people.
It`s entirely probable that the Olmert government didn`t tell Mr. Shalit what its prosecutors told the courts when a Hamas legislator was almost released. They and others were taken specifically as hostages for release of Gilad Shalit.
Politicians on both sides need to suck it up and compromise. Do the people`s work for a change. |
