and Judaism; between persons raised in the tradition of Christianity and the Jewish people. Because the danger to Judaism and Jewry is that the very core of Christianity is anti-Jewish, is the improbable gospel charge that *the Jews* not only rejected Jesus and his supposed mission, but tried, convicted and crucified him. And that, according to Matthew, we announced that his blood was not only on our hands, but would ever be on that of our children.
Unless and until Christianity accepts responsibility for its crimes against the Jewish people, expunges Jew hatred from Paul and the gospels (something it can never do and remain a religion separate from its Jewish roots) Jews will ever face the risk of another Holocaust. And while it is natural that those of us living among Christians grow complacent Israel, the Zionist state cannot afford such a luxury.
