| A "two state solution" need not include official recognition of Israel by Hamas. This is something which can be earned over time and is not something to be demanded or negotiated. Israel does not need the love or affection of Hamas, they just need Hamas to adopt a "live and let live" attitude. The largest stumbling block to peace is not Hamas, it is Israels continuing expansion into the land needed for a Palestinian state. This is the view of the entire world, including America and the UN. Israel does not really want to let the process continue to the point at which the world is contemplating sanctions against Israel as they now do against Iran. We are headed in that direction. It is only a matter of time until we get there. |
