POWs are traded between 2 sides after a war. Each side holds soldiers which were captured in the course of war. The prisoners are treated in accordance with Geneva Convention, entitling them to Red Cross visits, etc. Prisoners were traded between Israel and Arab countries wars.
This is not a prisoner swap. Yes, the terrorists call this a prisoner swap, but, hey, they also call terrorists civilians, their slaughter resistance, and their dead child murderers heroes.
As part of this deal, Israel receives hostages captures as part of an unprovoked cross-border infiltration, not during a war. The terrorists do not even let us know if they are alive, not mention granting Red Cross visits. We hand in a convicted terrorist who came to Nahariya from Hezbanon and brutally murdered a family. The last time I checked, no war was taking place in Nahariya and none of Kuntar`s victims were soldiers. So where are the prisoners here? I guess MIA
