First, In general I am against arm race, but arms can be a tool for peace. Without the simple rockets Hamas is using, Israel would not have accepted a ceasefire in Gaza. If you don`t buy this argument, then think about USA and Russia, there was no single direct war between the two countries. Why, because they were both strong and each side is afraid of the other. I presonally believe, there will be peace if Palestnians get equally strong as Israel. In that case, each side will be afraid of the other, and peace would prevail.
Second, a lot of arms are sold by Israeli`s to Palestinians. Why does not Israel stop that?? |
