Check http://www.cycle-helmets.com and it is clear that the helmet law introduced 16 years ago in Western Australia increased the accident/injury/hospital rate by 30% per cyclist on the road. That`s hundreds of extra cyclists in hospital every year and tens of thousands of cyclists discouraged from cycling who instead drive their cars, worsening the accident risk for everybody and contributing to Australia now being ranked as the fattest nation on earth.
The supporters of the Helmet Bill will bear a heavy responsibility for every death and injury that occurs because of the views that they hold. |
