This report should be rewarded “worst reporting of the year”. It is verbatim Tzalul propaganda. Haaretz should not pay reporters who do not check facts and were clearly too lazy to read even the abstract of the International Committee that was commissioned by the Israeli Government to check the fish farms.
1. All parties agree that the cause of coral destruction at the coral reef beach reserve (an oxymoron) is snorkeling and scuba divers.
2. The adjacent oil port shows no coral damage – it is closed to the public.
3. There were never coral reefs under the cages. It is a sandy area and seasonal flood plane. The cage platforms and experimental reefs built under the cages have developed spectacular artificial reefs.
4. True, antibiotics were used in the fish food but ceased a decade ago. As for feces, all fish feces are the same and there are powers more fish outside of the cages than inside.
