The trucists have no serious argument to defend their move. Hamas is still strengthening its military, has not change its strategic goals and is still preparing for the next war. As a consequence, they will resume the open war as soon as they will feel strong enough or when they will be an opportunity to do it. This truce is just a pathethic attempt of Israeli leaders to hide their failure to address the Hamas threat. Shavit may claim that supporters of Lebanon war did not draw any lessons but the real truth is that Barak and other Arab appeasers did not draw any lessons from their past failures with Arafat, Southern Lebanon. Israel has nothing to win and everything to lose in letting its ennemies gaining strength and in delaying to address real threats. Hamas was a threat before the `truce`, it will remain a threat during and after this pathethic and dangerous move.
