The UN Special Envoy came up with a formula for fulfilling Res 242 in the Sinai Desert. Sadat sent a letter to Meir saying that he will agree to the Jarring formula if Israel also agreed to accept it. If Meir had responded positively then there would have been no war. Instead she dismissed that letter with the Hebrew equivalent of "You want me to withdraw? You and who`s army, Sonny-Jim???" To which Sadat responded with a very Egyptian version of "This f**king army, Bitch!!!" In short: harzion is another zionist who thinks that the military exists in a world totally divorced from the political and diplomatic world that surrounds them. You get *led* to a war by the politicians, harzion. The army doesn`t get a say in that; their role is simply to fight it. |
