First of all, I want to point out that I did not want to overemphasize health or vegeterian issues...

I have to admit that I am not knowledgeable about prices in Israeli supermarkets. You may also be right about oligarchic structures within the economy.

However, that is only one (also if an important one) issue affecting food prices. Food prices are going up world-wide! Thus one should also consider this.

Of course it would be good if the Israeli officials invistigate any misuse of economic power (unfortunately all to often "everything goes" in Israel, especially if you have enough money).

Nevertheless it is no sin for companies to seek profit margins. Otherwise they would not invest. Compared to other concepts "capitalism" has worked best I believe (if only the state would do its job and prevent monopolistic or oligopolistic structures; having said that it is difficult to have many small companies compete and secure fair prices in a small country like Israel).
