| Syria was only interested in a peace which would return the Golan. When it became apparent that Israel would not return the Golan and would only use it as a teaser, Syria lost all interest in making peace with Israel. Lately, with the emergence of Iran, Syria has realized that there is more than one way to get their territory back. Israel is at war now, and this war has only been getting more chronic. Everybody, including Israelis are impatient to see what reality will exist after the enevitable war between Israel and Iran. Following that war will begin the new era in the mideast. I cannot predict who will win, but there will be pain enough for everyone. |
