Mission almost impossible for Fayyad. You simply can`t build an infrastructure and "facts on the ground" when the other half of the dysfunctional government is waging daily military attacks against civilians. Fayyad cannot change Israeli public opinion, which is in a majority against the Palestinians because of their constant attacks against civilians. No matter how many jobs Fayyad generates, it doesn`t change the fact that Hamas does not want peace with Israel and prefers war. How can the Palestinians have a future when one head (Fayyad) is trying to build a country, while the other head (Hamas) is trying to wage war? The Palestinians will NOT get anywhere until they get their house in order. They will never win a war with Israel, and a constant guerilla war against Israeli civilians ensures the Israeli people will never be able to come to a peace treaty with the Palestinians. |
