Alarm bells should be ringing very loud. This demonstration of the erosion in public faith is depressing, a denial of Israel`s constitution and most of all could be a precursor to the Israeli people turning its back on democracy.
Israelis would be outraged to be compared to a Third World tyranny, and need to rally round the cause of transparency and integrity in publc affairs. There is an excess of political parties, but surely one dedicated to such a premise would gather immense support, and pressurise established political parties to mend their ways .... |
