People who have bothered to educate themselves on these matters knows that any offical Jewish "acceptance" of the Partition Plan was meaningless. The Zionists accepted two words: "Jewish state" - and ran with it. However, the Plan was embodied in a very specific map (and a precise verbal description of it), all of which was immediately cast aside by the Zionists, before the ink was dry. By December 1947, Arabs were already being terrorized and forced out of their neighborhoods in Jerusalem by Zionist units. In reality, NONE of Jerusalem was to have been under Jewish/Israeli sovereignty, nor did the Plan call for or allow the forced expulsion of ANYONE. This is the Original Sin of the foundation of the State of Israel, a package of nagging moral questions on which most Israelis simply `refuse delivery`. |
