"The friendly dip not in the Kinneret.." but why not...?!
Before knowing what`s in it for us? Let me tell you! Sharing the Kinneret requires much warmer peace than with either Egypt or Jordan. I have red lines too.
I also have an idea of a large shared Hydroelectric (Pumped Storage) 800MW project that we investigated and designed in enormous detail years ago, for Israel only, but now would include its upper half in (future) Syria and the lower half in Israel, and then out into the Kinneret. Our Kinneret. Shamir was the PM at the time of the studies. When I mentioned my idea to the management of offering to share this project, for peace, with Syria, there was a big laugh. Maybe I could get Peres interested now...The project, very economical, still exists, of course. |
