Israel won the Jom Kippur war soundly. It only ended when it did because of Soviet pressure: They saw that their proxies were being punished by Israel (again) and threatened to get involved themselves, so the US pressured Israel to accept a new armistice with the status quo borders (including the whole Sinai and Golan). There is unfortunately a long tradition of revisionist history in Egypt, so this may be new to you.
If Syria ever attacks Israel again, it will lose a lot more territory. If it uses WMD in the war, it will cease to exist as a souvereign nation. If you wonder why, I`ll give you a hint: Google Vananu. |
