| Nasrallah has previously stated that Hizbollah could have peace with Israel if Israel returned the Shaaba farms and released their Lebanese prisoners. Syria has already allowed that the Shaaba farms belongs to Lebanon and not to Syria. Israels position over the long term has been expansion, primarily in the west bank, but also the Golan and east Jerusalem. Since this expansion is uniformly condemned by every nation in the world, including America, some low level conflicts, such as the one with Hamas and Hizbollah serve Israels interest. These issues keep the media interest off of Israels expansion and promote Israels status as the "constant victim" even while they are victimizing their neighbors. |
