| As an American minority, Jews are well down the list in terms of numbers. Why then do they leave such a large cultural footprint in America. What is the point? This is answered each year in Washington DC, as it was last week in the annual AIPAC convention. ALL of the most influential American politicians are summoned by AIPAC in order that they pledge public alliegence to Israel. They decline this summoning at peril to their careers. The sound bites from this conference are not usually broadcast by the media for some reason, but they were last week due to the impact on the ongoing American election. We saw Obama, McCain, Clinton, Pelosi and all the rest professing their love and admiration for Israel. They actually tried to outdo one another in paying homage to Israel. Coverage of ths speeches at an AIPAC conference would cause jaws to drop to the floor all over America. This would speed up a process which is nonetheless progressing, but at a slower speed. |
