This is NOT a REPLACEMENT for a Shoah museum or a museum about Jewish history; everyone should visit Yad Vashem / Holocaust Museum, and everyone should learn about our history!
And then we should ALSO visit this museum and enjoy learning about modern Jewish contributions to the richness of our world. We should reflect on the incredible amount of joy and beauty that Jewish culture has created over thousands of years of Jewish history.
To those who are complaining about the museum: it ADDS to the intricate tapestry of Jewish culture, rather than REPLACING the knowledge that many people thirst destroy us, or that so many others would gladly let us be slaughtered rather than be personally inconvenienced.
Jewish life has always been a rich symphony; don`t reduce it to a single note.
It`s WONDERFUL to see exciting new Jewish institutions being built. Let`s support them. |
