| Israel`s policy of restricting Fulbright Scholars from going through Israel to the US is very shortsighted. From a public relations point of view it makes Israel look like a repressive government. Additionally, these Palestinian scholars might be influenced to become more pragmatic vis-a-vis Israel when they attend Universities outside of a Hammas dominated environment. In addition, these scholars might some day provide some "honest" and "pargamatic" leadership to the Palestinians, something that is terribly lacking. |
