| I think most Americans treat the Jewish vote for a Democratic candidate as a foregone conclusion. The so-called pandering to the Jewish vote is more about hoping American Christians, especially the white ones who make up the majority of the electorate, will equate appearances by the candidates to Jewish groups as a sign of thier suport for Israel....something that is very popular among American Evangelicals and conservatives. Long story short...Obama will get the Jewish vote, but if McCain appears to be going after the Jewish vote, which he could never garner anyway, he will land the support of a much larger voting constitiuent. |
