| Even among the Orthodox, very few follow even 30% of the numerous religious practices. Most of these numerous practices are based on parts of the Tanach that are completely unreliable! As a matter of fact, the Tanach tells us the most of the Jews of the past (Moshe, Sholomo, etc.) did not do even 30% of the current religious practices, many invented and most of them based on unreliable parts of the Tanach! The Tanach is an important set of texts for the Jewish people but it is not reliable at all for at least 50% of its contents, if not more! What you do not ask of yourself, do not ask to others! Or: do not do unto others what you would not like others do to you. Same for the religious practices, especially in the framework of assessing the converts. You cannot ask converts to do more than what most Jews do!! Again, considering the unreliability of most of these invented religious practices that are based on completely unreliable parts of the Tanach! |
