Where the heck are you pulling this stuff from? I did a Wikipedia because I immediately was suspect of what you posted. Car manufacturing? Cement making? Neither is listed in Wikipedia. Yes, last time I looked I was ready to jump into a Syrian produced car. Having worked for Holcim, one of the world`s largest cement producing companies, never heard of Syria as even in the Ballpark. Syria is oil producing, yes, but declining, but most of their population, in excess of 40% of their workforce, is into agriculture. Syria is not that bond up with Iran solely because Iran`s economy is in decline, else they wouldn`t have some 20% unemployment. Even their oil production is in decline (mainly due to sanctions leading to maintenance issues, not reserves). While I would agree Iran is investing heavily into Syria because they are trying to put a front against Isreal, they are not so heavily invested that Syria could not kick them out in a heartbeat and say "EU, US, come on over"
