Anorexia happens in a girl (sometimes a boy) but is a family issue. Father has a relationship with the girl that renders her as a companion to father, sometimes asking her for decisions the mother would need to make.
Deep in their unconscious, these girls don`t want to develop sexually into adult women out of fear. They are the venting point of a family`s disfunctionality. It`s easy to point to the girl as an individual problem. It`s hard to see and then assume it is a systemic family issue.
Girls like Mor and Tami truly believe they are "too thick" even if they look rather like concentration camp inmates. Anorexia is a mental illness. It generally surfaces in girls who have been "good" and "never giving any problems" until when they become teens, the whole disfunctionality in the family relationships passes through them. |
