| With the probably biggest collection of Holocaust memorials, Germans want to hide the fact that the vast majority of the perpetrators of the Holocaust had a nice life in post-war Germany, never stood trial and could even continue their career ending up with fat pensions. Those who committed horrible crimes against homosexuals or people who were mentally disturbed continued to teach to the younger German generation in high schools and universities. The collection of abstract memorials allowed the younger generation to avoid asking their parents and great parents what they did during WWII, so that the perpetrators were not to be found inside the own family. The result is devastating: 80% of younger Germans say that Germany has no special relationship with the Jewish State. The erection of Holocaust memorials is a cheap way out of history. |
