| To all: I am an American Jew whose parents lived in Israel, who took several classes at the Hebrew University and took part in several archaeological digs there, and who has many family members there. My wife and I plan to retire to Israel. I am for peace with Syria because it is the ONLY WAY to stop the vicious hatred of Israel, and, by extension, Jews, that started in the Arab world, spread to Europe, and is now spreading to college campuses across the U.S. If Israel doesn`t become more conciliatory toward its neighbors, eventually it will become the object of a worldwide boycott, will be kicked out of the UN, and may be invaded by an international force. As for Jews in the western world, they may increasingly find themselves the objects of abuse, vandalism, insults and physical violence. This isn`t what I WANT to happen by any means, but as sure as I`m standing here, this--a worldwide pogrom--is what WILL happen unless we have peace--in a hurry! Raanan Geberer |
