| I was saddened to hear that Avram Grant was dismissed today. I watched the Euro final game. Chelsea lost because John Terry slipped when taking the penalty kick. How can A. Grant be blamed for that ? Apart from the first 20 minutes when Ronaldo was working his magic I thought that Chelsea were playing the better football. My team, Leeds United, came in second place in the league 5 times in the League and twice in the FA Cup finals between 1965 and 1974. They didn`t fire Don Revie. Surely Avram was worth trying for one full season. I am sure that Peter Kenyon was the instigator of this, but why didn`t R. Abramovich speak up for his friend ? Chelsea won`t get a better manager. Look at Man. City firing Sven-Erik Girenson as well ! It`s getting barmy in Blighty. Even SAF took a few years with Man U to win anything. |
