No one who supports the Iranian government can honestly call themselves a leftist, or a liberal or a progressive. The Iranian government is an extreme right wing government, bordering on fascism.
There is a liberal minority in the Arab world, who urge their brothers to grow up, take responsibility for their own actions and stop blaming Israel for everything, and to denounce terror. But they don`t have very much influence, and in some Arab countries have to stay one step ahead of the "thought police." These are the people the true left would support. |
