A book I highly recommend is `Peace Parks: Conservation and Conflict Resolution` by Saleem Ali(MIT Press). Its case studies examine how managing and sharing physical space can build and eventually sustain trust between two conflicting groups. This would be the perfect model for the Golan Heights. In fact, I remember reading about this proposal on Haaretz sometime last year. I managed to find a link which discusses the proposal in more detail:
