IF Syria is serious, it will DEMAND that Israel KEEP the Golan. No one, who is honestly wanting a long term t`peace` would so much as consider asking for the very platform that would enable it to threaten its adversary. If Syria asks for the Golan, then peace is not its intention. Syrian occupation of the Golan is merely a prelude and staging ground for future war and/or intimidation. No one interested in peace sets up that kind of dynamic. If Olmert violate this basic reality, he is either sabatouging a potential peace, or setting up a catastrophic future scenerio with Syria. Years into the duture, when peace has become the norm, Israel and Syria can mutually co-operate in the Golan. Israel must a appoint a liason that undertands these dynamics, and will allow for Turkey to forge a legimate and accountable long tern scenerio. Olmert, BUT OUT YOU ARE NOT SMART EGNOUPH, NOR HONEST EGNOUPH, NOR OF CLEAN HANDS. |
