Can you imagine the outcry...
...if there were a Tanakh or Koran burning organized by a city mayor here in Israel or anywhere else?
I can appreciate that many who received these books would have no intention of reading them, and are entitled to feel annoyed by their unsolicited distribution, but surely there`s a more respectful way of disposing of them than a public burning. With all the justified condemnation of historical and contemporary desecration of copies of the Tanakh, where, O Orthodox Judaism, is the respect for the holy books of other religions? |
