It was possible to negotiate with the Soviet Uniuon because, after all, the Soviet Union realized the limits of its power and was deterred by Realpolitik. Not so rogue countries like Iran or Nazi Germany, fuelled by a religion or an ideology of hate. Such countries are non-compromising supremacists, and must be put fown before it is too late.
