Yes, Rena shouldn`t jump to the conclusion that he was deliberately being hurtful. Things do happen that cause people to be unable to respond. However, Danny set-up the situation poorly. If you`re chatting with someone while doing something that could (and probably will) divert your attention, you say so. This isn`t to say that you`d have the time to type brb when the water boils over. However, if you say upfront, "I`ve got dinner on the stove, so I may have to go afk now or again" you set up the understanding that you will not be 100% focused on the conversation.
If Danny had been on the phone with Reno, he could have been talking while doing. However, he also probably would have asked his mother if he could call her back. It *is* rude to leave the middle of a delicate conversation without at least an explanation why. |
