| It was an ill-concieved venture from the start, mixing greed and a desire to take what belonged to someone else. The settlements became the justification to keep the occupation going and deny the Palestinians a state on their own land. Look at the tons of money Israelis themselves have seen wasted funding and subsidizing these squatter colonies that could have gone to better use helping the people in Israel. And to then take money from the US government ostensibly because there are not sufficient funds without it. Sheer nonsense and buffoonery. The US pays, the Palestinians pay a steep price most of all. Israel pays: in it`s stature close to that of a pariah state because of the occupation and moreso the settlement enterprise and in needless deaths due to the greed of others salivating over land that does not belong to them. It could have all been avoided. Fools |
