| I immigrated to Israel from England when I was 59 and attended an Ulpan for 18 months. I completed, aleph, bet, gimmel and dahled. The contribution of the Russian immigrants in every field far outweighs that of the native English speakers. Hi-tech, the arts and sport to give just a sampling. I don`t know what `patronizing attitude` you are referring to. To expect English to be made the number one language in Israel would be a totally arrogant and misplaced attitude. Mike |
