| What is the meaning of an "official" national language. It can mean whatever you want it to mean. In an extreme case, other languages can be forbidden or made illegal. In the more normal case, speakers of other languages will certainly be discriminated against. You can paint the issue with a self-righteous brush, but underneath it is just another tool for the majority to strike out against minorities. |
