I hate these parties, but I am really surprised, that Russian and English obviously have the same official importance as Hebrew does. In my opinion, Hebrew should be given a special role, as the first official language, Arabic as second. And Russian... why does Russian need a special status? Israel is a democratic enough state, so that the rights of Russian speaking community will be respected and Russian will be used everywhere anyway. English is maybe an important language, but I don`t understand, why it should be given a special status, we are not in USA, and thanks G-d for this. By the way, was it Bibis idea to take English into the list?
It`s a shame that now the rightists can take the full score as patriots defending Hebrew and leftists automatically will have to oppose the proposition. |
