I have visited Rabbi Shimon`s tomb several times.
It is a disgrace that these groups can`t honor this Holy place by making some comprimises amongst them. I always wonder what Rabbi Shimon would think about what is being done to supposedly honor him?
The man was a spiritual GIANT, there are many legends about him. The one that comes to mind is the story of his coming out of years of hiding and isolation to see people working in the fields rather than meditating,contemplating, and studying. He could`nt understand them and was enraged at their seemingly worthless toil and labor. His fierce stare set the fields on fire. What would he say or do in the instance of this infighting and rivalry over his tomb? I imagine a blazing inferno. |
