| 650000 refugees in 1948?? There were only 900000 Arabs in Palestine. Of them a 100000came after the war, from the surrounding countries, because the Jews paid better wages, and life with the Jews was better than in their native countries. If there were 300000 refugees, maybe that is the right number, but half of them left on their own, because they were told that the jews could not defend themselves against 5 invading Armies, and so Unrwa and the Arab countries keep them to this day as refugees, as an political lever. Normal people would have settled them years ago, like in all other countries were there were refugees of the same type. |
