It is true that the leadership alienates most Jews from feeling like they are a part of the organized community or can contribute to it positively.
As well as the new values that have become the norm in America. Jewish identity is not so important to a majority of the Jewish youth in America.
I now rent an apartment in a Kibbutz that is barely Jewish, don`t ask me why. I feel responsible for letting myself get to the same place that I was when I lived in America. Israel is not as safe or as certain for the Jewish people to feel free and secure as Jews. This is now a myth. Israel is just as fluid and influenced as Jewish life is in America. People here don`t give it a second thought, then again why would they, when the youth of Israel are completely neglected and left to fend for themselves (much like america) alone. |
