| Forgive me if I have implied that Poles should "be beyond introspection." They should not, but neither should they be accused as a whole of the kinds of libelous charges that continue to be leveled against them by a frightening number of our people. It is downright nasty and a distortion of the facts. The Holocaust was and remains a NAZI and German crime, that many others participated in, hardly, however, the Poles -- they too were "untermenschen." The facts of post-war pogroms can be debated endlessly (ie by whom were they inspired)though to base one`s views of the Polish nation on this, to me reeks of the same kind of idiocy as those who perception of Israel is based on isolated acts of like *true barbarism* committed by Israeli`s, such as Baruch Goldstein`s massacre (and I won`t list others so as not to inspire the ire of those who would seek at all costs to deny that any Jews have ever been wrong.) |
