Let?s get one thing straight; while the Jews had lived in relative peace in Poland for over 600 years, 1930?s Poland was violently anti-Semitic. When the Nazi?s overran Poland, the Polish people, for the most part, played out their violent anti-Jewish fantasies with gusto and enthusiasm... The volunteered for the Germans ? as did many Frenchmen ? and took over Jewish homes and businesses immediately after the Jews were trucked to the death camps.
To make matters worse, AFTER the war was over, and the Jewish refugees/survivors returned to Poland to reclaim their homes and businesses, the Poles systematically raped and murdered thousands.
With that said, Poland is a fine place today, and the children today have nothing to do with this horrible fact about Polish history. My mother?s entire family was murdered in Poland. |
