Mr. or Ms. KeepingItRealJew:
1. You are right about the Poles not being an "indirect force"; they were in fact a very direct force. It was not a random selection that motivated the Nazis to place most of the concentration camps in Poland. The exception to this general rule were the miniscule handful of righteous Poles. Remember Jedwabne and scores of other towns where Poles conducted pogroms years after the war. You see, KeepingItRealJew (you sure don`t sound like one!), I was born in a town close to the most infamous camps and my parents survived the war by hiding in forest. The rest of the family was murdered by the Nazis or the Polish Armija Krajova (Polish National Army). 2. End pilgrimages to Poland? No!! WE must always remember. I have visited Auschwitz and my daughters participated in March of the Living. When in Poland, they were repeatedly cursed and vilified by locals in almost every town. 3. The Polish soil is soaked with Jewish blood. |
